UTM parameters are query string fields that analytics tools read to attribute visits to a source, medium and campaign. The generator parses your URL, keeps any existing query parameters and hash, and sets the utm fields you fill in, encoding values correctly.
Two switches keep your data clean: lowercase forcing prevents Email and email from showing up as separate rows in reports, and underscore replacement avoids encoded spaces in the URL. The tool warns if source, medium or campaign is missing, because most analytics reports need all three.
