How the Remove Line Breaks works

Text copied from PDFs, emails and terminals often has a hard line break at the end of every visual line. This tool replaces those breaks with a space, with nothing, or with a separator of your choice.

Keep paragraph breaks mode treats blank lines as real paragraph boundaries and only joins the lines inside each paragraph. The hyphen option rejoins words that were split across two lines, such as exam- ple, back into one word.

When it is useful

  • •Cleaning text copied from a PDF before pasting it into an email or document.
  • •Converting a list into a single comma separated line.
  • •Preparing a paragraph for a form field that does not accept line breaks.
  • •Fixing subtitle or poem text that was wrapped at a fixed width.
