Paste cells from Excel, Google Sheets or a CSV and get a ready to use Markdown table.
Copying a range from a spreadsheet gives tab separated text, and the tool detects that automatically; commas, semicolons and pipes work as well. Quoted CSV fields are supported.
The first row becomes the header unless you turn that off, in which case generic column names are added. Alignment can be left, center or right for the whole table, and padding makes the raw Markdown line up in columns so it stays readable in an editor. Pipe characters inside cells are escaped automatically.
Select the cells, copy them and paste into the input box. They arrive tab separated, which the tool detects.
No. Standard Markdown tables have no merged cells or multi line rows. The tool converts line breaks inside a cell to a br tag.
Pipe tables work on GitHub, GitLab, most static site generators and many note apps, but not in the original Markdown specification.
