Get both Discord's own formatting syntax and Unicode styles for places markdown does not reach.
The first group is Discord's own markdown, so it stays selectable and searchable. The rest are Unicode styles that work in usernames and nicknames where markdown does not.

Discord supports markdown in messages, so the first set of results wraps your text with the right markers: double asterisks for bold, single for italics, double underscores for underline, double tildes for strikethrough, vertical bars for spoilers, a hash for a large heading and a hash with a leading hyphen for small subtext. These stay searchable and readable by everyone.
Markdown does not work in usernames, server names or channel names. For those, the Unicode styles in the second set give a different look.
No. Nicknames show markdown characters literally. Use one of the Unicode styles for a nickname.
Wrap the text in two vertical bars on each side. Readers click it to reveal.
No. These are Unicode characters that happen to look like styled letters, so they paste into any app that accepts text, with no font installation. Because they are different characters from normal letters, search and screen readers may handle them differently.
