Type a word and get five-line tall letters built from the character you choose.
Every letter, digit and common punctuation mark is drawn on a 5 by 5 grid. The tool places the glyphs side by side with your chosen gap and swaps the pixels for the fill character you pick.
Because the art relies on every character having the same width, paste it into a code comment, a terminal banner, a README or a monospace code block. In a proportional font the letters will drift out of alignment.
The output is wide because each letter takes about six columns. Long words wrap in narrow boxes. Put one short word on each line, or paste into an editor with line wrapping turned off.
Letters A to Z, digits 0 to 9, space and the marks ! ? . , : ' - + =. Lowercase letters are drawn as capitals. Anything else is shown as a question mark glyph.
You can change the fill character, the gap between letters and how much each letter is stretched horizontally. The letter shapes themselves use a single clean block face.
